2009 Winner Receives a $10 Blockbuster Gift Card

John Krygier
PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Its been a tough 2009 for John so far. Fortunately, NASCAR started and his fortunes have changed. Nevermind another apparent collapse by his baseball squad in consecutive years, John's Galaxy Motorsports racing team had a spectacular June. In four races, placed no worse that 14th place. This included a win and a third place showing. He had the best driving record for the month and is now on top of the overall standings.
Meanwhile, on the links, John averaged a sixth place finish for the month. He is still above the cutline but will need a strong July to advance to the postseason. In baseball, the Portland Sea Dogs are still in contention for a league pennant, thanks to his rivals' recent stumbling. John was 3-3 during the month against some of the toughest teams in MLP.
Honorable Mentions: Ron- 2nd best average in 18H, Frank- 6-2 in MLP and third best average in 18H, Matt- 6th best average in VL

With less than two weeks left in the regular season, we still do not have any teams clinching playoff spots. Out of 15 franchises, 11 of them are still mathematically alive. In each league, the difference between first place is either a tie or a half-game. The Dragons were the first team to reach 11 victories, but they are only in second plce. The Express sport a respectable .500 record, but are only in fourth place. The Pioneer League is by far the toughest with an overall record of 9 games above .500. Mike Shepard is coming off a recent victory in New Hampshire. His DEI team moved up 8 spots in the overall standings and is currently fourth. John Krygier and Mark Walraven continue to have successful NASCAR seasons in multiple leagues. We have not have a repeat winner yet, but Ron and his K-Automotive Racing team has an impressive 5 Top 10 finishes in 6 starts. John K leads the league with Top 5's- currently with three. Tony Macaluso continues to lead comfortably over the rest of the field. The real battle is at the bottom of the leaderboard because only the Top 10 advance to the playoffs. Strategy becomes paramount, as some players will need to sit out an event or two soon.
