SCORING RULES:
1. Submission of picks will be done via the league website.
2. Each player is given a series to pick winners from. Winners can win the series 2 games to 1, 3 games to 1, etc. Once the winners are chosen, they are assigned the following points: 10,8,6,4,2.
3. Each player receives points based on which teams he/she picks to win, and what numerical value of points was assigned to each team. If the team wins, all the points are awarded. If the team ties the series, half of the points are awarded. If the team loses the series, no points are awarded.
4. Along with the 5 winners, each player has an opportunity to add up to 3 optional winners- but not required to do so. If an optional team wins, 1 point is awarded. If the optional team loses, 1 point is deducted from the total. If the optional team ties, no points are added or deducted.
5. All the points are added or subtracted and compared with the weekly opponent's. If there is a tie, then the matchup is considered a "rain-out". Postponed games will be made up during an available slot. The "rain-out" game is considered a game not played. However, stats will be used from that game. The determination of the actual make-up dates will be determined by the Commissioner. A matchup, near the end of the season, may not be made up if it does not affect any of the playoff races. That decision will be decided by the commissioner and the teams involved. In a make-up game, the teams involved will pick series like they normally do with the regular games.
6. If a makeup game during the regular season turns out to be a tie, the following procedure will be used: The commissioner will select one day where all the MLB teams are playing. Each team involved in the tie will select the winners of all the games played that date. (Series will not be used.) No points will be used. The winner is the one who picks the most teams correct. This procedure will repeat until the tie is broken.
7. (New Rule for 2008) If there is a tie in a world series game, the following steps will be utilized. A) The teams will play one make-up game. B) If there is still a tie, then the combined records of the teams picked in the make up game and rain-out game will be compared. C)If that is a tie, we will use the procedure outlined in Rule #6.
8. (New Rule for 2008) If there is a tie in the first two rounds of the playoffs, the home team is considered the winner.

PROCEDURAL RULES:
1- The Commissioner will not inform players if their picks have errors, even if he spots them before the beginning of games. It is up the individual player to spot his/her errors prior to due times and resubmit picks.
2- If there is any error, that is not found by the Commissioner, it is up to another MLP player to spot this. If the error goes unnoticed by all after 3 days upon completion of the MLB series in question, the score becomes official.

OTHER RULES:
1. Each team will play an 18 game schedule.
2. (New Rule for 2011) Playoff Format: Division winners own the top 2 seeds for each respective league for the post season. The next top 2 teams, in each league, are considered the wildcards and are assigned the lowest 2 seeds. In the wild card round, the home team (division winner) needs to only win 1 out of 2 games to advance. The visiting team needs to win both games. There is no home team in the League Championship Series or MLP World Series- the team to win 2 games first wins the series.

b. If three teams are in the same division, than Rule #3 will be utilized to break tie. Then the top team from that group will be compared to the team from the other division.
