Buckled down by knee injuries, John was denied the possibility of playing in the Major Leagues. As a shortstop, he led his Junior team to the World Series title. After retiring, John coached sandlot ball for 6 years. However, the allure of becoming the Brooklyn Cyclones' manager prompted him to quit that endeavor and join his hometown team. If you are a Red Sox fan, do not cross John's path.
