Frank's Favorite Memory (9/03/08) I watched the Red Raiders a lot growing up and several come from behind memories come to mind. But I guess two memories that continue to come to mind occurred in the '90's and involved the Red Raider mascot. The Masked Rider would ride the mascot horse on the sidelines before games and around the stadium at high speed after each Tech touchdown. The first memory was I watched as the Red Raider ran over a referee knocking him to the ground. The second memory I watched in horror as the mascot horse went loco and threw off the Masked Rider and then proceeded to run into the cement wall at the stadium. Thousands watched this event in horror as the crash killed the horse.
